SETAC Europe 34th Annual Meeting - 2024년 학회

2024년 5월 5일부터 5월 9일까지 스페인 세비야에서 “Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry Europe 34th Annual Meeting (이하 SETAC)”이 개최되었습니다.

본 학회 “SETAC”은 환경 독성과 화학을 주제로 연구하는 90개국의 약 5,000명의 연구자가 참가하고, 이 분야에서 가장 규모가 크고 권위있는 국제 학회입니다. 그 중 이번 SETAC 유럽 학회는 약 3,000명이 참석 신청을 하였으며 이는 지난 30년 동안 성공적으로 개최한 SETAC 유럽 연례회의 역사상 가장 최대 규모라고 합니다. 이번 학회는 서울대학교의 윤서준 교수님과 박신영 박사과정 학생이 국립공주대학교 이정현 교수님과 충남대학교 차지현, 곽지윤 박사과정 학생이 참석했습니다.

이번 SETAC 유럽 학회의 주제는 ‘위기 시대의 과학 기반 솔루션: 환경 문제에 대한 과학과 정책의 통합’이며 약 500건의 구두발표와 2,300개 이상의 포스터발표로 풍성한 과학기술 보고의 장이 되었습니다. 우리 Benthos 연구진은 이번 학회에서 총 5건의 발표(구두발표 1건, 포스터발표 4건)를 통해 연구를 알릴 수 있는 좋은 기회를 가졌습니다.

이번 스페인 세비야에서의 학회 참석은 전세계 연구자들과 학자들이 모두 한 자리에 모여 서로의 연구 결과를 공유하며 함께 발전하는 귀중한 기회였습니다. 다양한 연구 주제와 정보를 공유하고 배움으로써 더 넓은 시야를 가지게 되었습니다. 또한 이번 학회를 통해 우리 Benthos가 얼마나 대단한 연구를 하고 있는지 한번 더 깨달을 수 있었으며 향후 연구를 진행함에 있어 한번 더 마음을 굳건히 다지게 되었습니다. 앞으로도 꾸준한 연구를 통해 전세계에 우리 Benthos를 보여줬으면 하며, Benthos 파이팅!
